I am an owner of a young Bearded Dragon named Blaise who had unfortunately gotten sick due to not getting enough calcium absorbed in his body(The UV Light was a fraud and has since been rectified). He would not eat, had seizures; It was bad. With a lot of research, care and such, I managed to nurse him back to health and he is back to being a completely normal happy beardie. Before that however, while he was sick, he would not eat whatsoever. After a couple weeks of him out right refusing to eat anything, I took him to the vet. They gave me this calcium supplement and instructed me that I needed to get it in him. Well I did manage to get it in him but because I had to get his mouth open to save his life, unfortunately he is now afraid of me, or I suppose just overly cautious of me. He used to love hanging out with me but now he just hisses at me if I get close. I take pride that I was able to save him of course and I'd do it again because I love the little guy, but I do wish I could interact with him again without him freaking out. Is there anything I can do to calm him down when I get close? Will it just take time? Maybe some sort of treat I can tempt him with to get him to like my hands again?
