We just moved into a new place a few weeks ago and I've tried letting him roam the pet room a few times but he's been too nervous and usually sits in one place, or runs to the base of the ferret cage and watches the ferret.
(He doesn't seem stressed or head bob, I think he just genuinely enjoys watching the ferret. He usually begs to come out when I have the ferret out to play. I swear he wants to play too but the ferret would chomp him :( he doesn't understand they can never be friends)
Last night he finally felt adventurous.
He did a lap of the room, found a box on its side, went in it and started scratching at the back side, then curled up and fell asleep.
It was so cute I just let him have it in his tank for the night to sleep in.
