I think my beardie hates me.

This is my very first beardie! I got him on July 2nd, so I’ve had him for a little over a month. I’m convinced he hates me because he hates being handled. The only way he voluntarily climbs into my hand is for food. He will sit in my hand for a very short period then jumps off if I move my hand in the slightest way. Does anyone have any tips? I spend time trying every single day very consistently. Tonight, i put my shirt in his enclosure so he could know my scent better.
