Beardie dreams, owner almost gets heart attack

Today I'll share with you a funny story that happened last night.

My beardie, Ray, has a habit of falling asleep on me. When his lights turn off for the day he starts looking for me to take him, then he cuddles up to my neck, with his head under my chin. I always go to sleep much later than him so having him sleep on me for a few hours is nice to us both.

I know he dreams: sometimes he raises his head and licks, or chews, and I say "glutton, you're dreaming food again", or he'll dig a bit while being sound asleep. I think it's cute. Well last night...

I was gaming late. Of course, Ray was sleeping on my chest. I was really focused on the game, when suddenly something hits my chin with some force and I get the biggest jump scare of my life, freezing in place and not being able to process how did that came from the game.

But then it keeps hitting so it wakes me from the shock, I move my head aside and surprise, Ray was head bobbing while sleeping. I'd say violently so, with his whole body like doing enthusiastic push ups, then just the head, then repeat. He did it a few times then went back to sleep peacefully.

Now here's the thing, I've had him since he was a little lizard and I've never seen him head bob ever, now I know he has this skill.

When he's in a new place he pancakes with a puffed beard, lowers his head and then just moves his nose up and down, I thought that's the Ray flavor of head bobbing. Apparently nope, and he decided to show me in the most traumatic way possible :))

Now I wonder what he dreamed.
