I have a 6 or 7 year old rescue bearded dragon named Alexei. He's had a lot of issues since I rescued him and has been to the vet about 6 times for various reasons.
This last time when I went was for some sort of eye infection. He is in the recovery stage getting over a respiratory infection and now whenever he blinks his eye, his nictating membrane is bright red and his eye rolls around in his socket like crazy. The vet didn't seem to know what was wrong exactly but gave me some eye drops for it. It seems to have gotten worse, and today he has had his eye completely shut.
I'm not sure what to do for him or what is causing this. Even the vet seemed stumped. Does anyone have any experience with this or expertise? My beardie refuses every veggie imaginable and so I'm wondering if it's a vitamin deficiency. I read a vitamin A deficiency can cause this but I don't know. I'm just freaking out because I want my boy to be okay.
Also how can I keep him comfortable? He is obviously very annoyed by this.
