My boyfriend’s friend (20M) has had his bearded dragon for more than 3 years now, and she (the beardie) is completely malnourished. She’s not super skinny but she’s very small for her age. The first time I went and saw the lizard, she didn’t even have a heat lamp at the least. Just a light bulb. I doubt his friend even knows what calcium powder is. I don’t think he did his research at all before, or even after, getting her. There’s no UVB, no basking spot. The tank is probably a 100 gallon tank (used to be a fish tank).
When I did see that the friend didn’t have a heat lamp at the least with the tank I told him he should really get one but that was it since that was before I did my research on them, but idk if he ever did.
I went to a reptile store today and saw a bearded dragon that was much bigger than his was. When I asked how old he was, the employee said he was about 2 years old. And that’s when I realized how poorly my bf’s friend is taking care of his.
I feel like it’s not my place to go and tell him how to take care of his animal, but I hate seeing him not taking proper care of her. What can I do?? Please help! :((
