I’ve been wanting to get a dubia colony going since I want to get a bearded dragon soon(ish). I’m not sure how many to start with though. The only amount of adults intended for breeding I’ve seen being sold here are 75 females and 25 males.
I’m a bit nervous though, since to my calculation that’d produce around 2000 nymphs every two months or 12000 per year and an adult bearded dragon will eat ~1500 adults a year. Should I just feed a couple breeders off? If so, how many?
How should I keep them? One bin for breeders and one for babies I’m raising into feeders? Or do you need more?
How often do I need to sort and clean them?
